Please read Overview before reading this so that you understand the concepts of profile items and profile item values.

Amounts returned by AMEE

All amounts returned by AMEE are in units of kilograms of carbon dioxide per calendar month, or kgCO2 pcm.

If the profile item accepted a yearly value, e.g. "DistanceKmPerYear", then the calculation is done using the yearly value you submitted and then divided by 12 to give a monthly amount which is returned to you.

Profile item values

The name of a profile item value will always specify the units involved, e.g. DistanceKmPerYear".

As a rule, AMEE works with the SI system of units, except for time, because hours, weeks, months and years are much more convenient than the SI unit for time which is seconds, e.g. "how many seconds do you watch TV for per day?" would be a odd question!
